A guide to becoming a Christian

In May 1985, soon after my encounter with Jesus,  I walked into this church, kneeled and repeated the sinner's prayer

How to become a Christian

(a) Recognise that you’re a sinner and there’s nothing you can do about it.

‘All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God’ Romans 3:23

Jesus is the standard that God’s set for each of us.

(b) Turn to God for forgiveness 1 John 1:9, 1 John 1:7, Psalm 130:4.

‘Christ himself bore our sins in His body on a cross, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. His wounds have healed you.’ 1 Peter 2:24

God requires from us the honesty to admit that we’ve spiritually and morally failed. But we come to Jesus as we are. Sinners by nature. Sinners by choice.

(c) Commit yourself to God. This is not a ritual but if you want to take a step of faith and become a Christian feel free to repeat the prayer below

'Jesus Christ, I believe and trust you, I believe you died for me. I give you all my sin and guilt. Thank you for forgiving me, I open my heart and mind to you. Come into my life now as my Lord and Saviour. Amen'

If you’ve prayed the prayer above and decided to follow Jesus Christ see the link below and take another step into your heavenly destiny.
